Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered into those boxes.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to read and answer it. We keep those messages within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates, times, and visit length
- Browser name and version
- Device and operating-system type
- Pages viewed during the visit
- Referring website, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic patterns, such as which pages are read and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that usage data for reporting. A browser can block cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the website function.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical faults
- Routing a search request to the selected provider
- Maintaining reliable and timely page delivery
- Measuring which information visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies the White County Sheriff's Office, local courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry as official custodians. Visitor data is not built into a third-party record or consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Their privacy policies govern information submitted to them, including retention and disclosure choices that we do not control. Review the selected provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to White County offices, Tennessee agencies, court portals, legal resources, or private services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal facts.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a submitted query
- Advertising networks that place site ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional choices concerning personal data. Tennessee public-record access and confidentiality are governed in part by the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§10-7-503 and 10-7-504. Tennessee criminal-history and registry dissemination also remains subject to specific laws, including Tenn. Code Ann. §40-39-201 et seq. Visitors may:
- Object to certain forms of data processing
- Request deletion of eligible information
- Seek correction of inaccurate data
- Ask for a copy of personal data we retain

This privacy policy may be revised. A new version will appear here with its current effective date, so visitors can review any change in practice.
